Design, development and support after launch.

One contractor from prototype to support

We take a product from the first conversation to launch, and stay after it.

  • 01

    Websites and web services

A site that brings in enquiries, or a service people work in every day. Built to be developed further a year from now rather than rewritten, and to work the same on a weak phone and in a screen reader.

    • Landing pages
    • Corporate sites
    • Online stores
    • Web services and user accounts
  • 02

    Mobile apps

An idea that needs testing, or a business that needs an app. We build for iOS and Android, with one codebase instead of two wherever it fits. Store publishing is on us.

    • Apps for customers
    • Apps for teams
    • MVP
    • App Store and Google Play
  • 03

    Prototyping and design

It is not yet clear how the product should work. A prototype shows that before the first line of code: changing a decision there costs hours, changing it in a finished build costs weeks.

    Rework and support

The project exists, but something does not work or has stalled. We read the code that is there, fix it, finish it and keep it moving, even when we did not write it and no documentation survived.

How we work

Six steps, and at each one you can see what is going on.

  1. We agree

    1. Conversation

First we work out which problem actually needs solving, and why. Sometimes it turns out here that the product you came for is not the one you need.

    2. Scope and estimate

We define what is in the work and what is not, and what it costs. If the scope is not clear up front we say so plainly.

    You get

A clear scope and a price

  2. We build

    1. Prototype and design

If they are needed. You see a clickable prototype and approve the layouts before development starts, and the code then follows them exactly.

    2. Development in stages

We build in parts, and you can open and check each one. A weekly update or a demo of a finished stage, whichever suits you.

    You get

A product you can open and check

  3. We keep going

    1. Testing and launch

We check on phones and with a keyboard. Then the domain, the mail, the analytics and everything else the project needs to actually run.

    2. Support and development

After launch we stay in touch: fixing, updating, building on. A monthly package of hours or separate tasks, depending on how much work there actually is.

    You get

The project live, and looked after

Frequently asked questions

Not the question you had? Write to us and we will work it out.

Write to us
  • What do you need from me to start?

A sentence or two about the job and a link to whatever already exists. There is no spec to write: the questions are ours to ask.

  • It depends on what exists and what has to come out, so we work it out after a short call. A project or a stage that is clear up front gets a fixed price. Work with someone else's code, bug hunting and tasks with an undefined scope are paid hourly: nobody can price in advance what they have not seen yet.

Support and development go by a monthly package of hours. TODO(owner): exact rates and a minimum budget have not been decided.

  • Yes. We fix the bugs, work out what the existing code does, finish abandoned projects, move them to a current stack and keep developing them.

We start by reading the code and telling you what is really going on in it. Sometimes rewriting costs less than repairing. Then we say so.

  • Technical SEO is part of building the site: page structure, speed, correct headings and markup. It is not a separate service and not a separate invoice.

We do not run or sell advertising campaigns. If your marketer or agency runs them, we do whatever is needed on the site's side.
